History
The Fostoria Baptist Church began over 120 years ago in 1893, when 18 people were willing to enter into covenant to establish a Baptist church. The first meeting place was on Fremont street in a rented church building owned by the Presbyterians. Soon afterwards the building was bought. Then in 1912, a new building was built on the corner of Fourth and Wood St. There the congregation stayed for over 50 years. In 1960, the first phase of a building program was completed on the present site. The educational wing was erected in 1968. |
